Since the arrival of DeGema – Homemade Hamburgers, in November 2013, eating a hamburger in the city of Braga has never been cooler.
Let’s start with its gorgeous location – right next to the Santa Bárbara Garden. And the burgers? Heavenly! Everything is made with the highest quality, the bread is homemade by DeGema, the beef is top quality and the vegetables always fresh.
Choosing which hamburger to eat is the difficult part, but at the same time extremely fun, especially since the burgers have such peculiar names (inspired on local and popular Portuguese sayings): “Ougar por mais” (“Salivating for more”), “Braga por um Canudo” (“Braga through a straw”), “Mais Belho que a Sé” (“Older than the Sé Cathedral”), among many others.
But Milton, one of the space’s managers, tells us that the most requested burgers are the “Tou Barado” (“I’m perplexed”), the “Penico do Céu” (“The sky’s potty”) and “Bancas Entre o Milho” (“Seats between Corn”).
If you prefer white meat, you can opt for a chicken burger. If you don’t eat meat, there are also veggie burgers.
For those who prefer a lighter lunch, during the week there is a cheaper and smaller burger for €5, a menu which includes a drink and coffee.
A burger, nothing more, but oh soooo good.
