The space that once was a cold and rigid space occupied by the GNR (Portuguese National Republican Guard), is now one of the city’s most creative spots.

GNRation was designed for the European Youth Capital, where it should have debuted, but it was only completed in 2013, so it ended up being the inheritance that Braga 2012 left for the city.
This space presents itself as a new hub of creativity, dedicated to the creation, production and consumption of artistic activities, in order to attract, maximize talent and provide ideas and businesses in this area. Through the various spaces and rooms available at GNRation, it aims to promote such areas as entrepreneurship, art, science, technology, culture and leisure, always accompanied by creativity and innovation.

This is a large building and, within its many rooms and spaces, we’d like to highlight the patios with original names, such as: dog, hunter and bear, and the names of the constellations embedded in the ground.

Each space hosts a schedule of shows that are appropriate for its size, such as the Black Box, a room that aims to be the stage for emerging bands. The six stores that exist in GNRation are dedicated to differentiated commerce. The work area is ready to receive entrepreneurs who are passionate about implementing their business ideas.

There are also two spaces reserved for a restaurant/café and for clubbing, and which are waiting the best possible proposals, provided they comply with the principle of all the other spaces in these inspirational headquarters: they must possess a creative and cultural profile that complements the remaining GNRation spaces.

Precisely because of its cultural, creative and technological profile, GNRation will be a place that is susceptible to various forms of art and its publics. Constantly evolving, it aims to be a non-stop space, open 24 hours a day.
