Alex Davico fell in love with a woman from Braga while staying in Lisbon, and Braga inevitably became part of his history. In the City of Archbishops, Alex created an Italian restaurant whose name - La Piola - means “the place to eat, drink and hang out”. This is the typical Italian tavern you'll want to meet!

In Rua Dom Afonso Henriques, La Piola welcomes us with everything that's best and most typical in Italy - yes, we can say that this is a 100 % Italian place, where the pastas, the pizzas, the risottos and the piadinas are the stars. To snack in the late afternoon or for a more complete meal, La Piola is the place to visit when the wish to make a gastronomic trip to Italy arises.

We tasted a delicious Gnocchi, which took us to Italy without leaving the table, and Alex also recommended the Ricotta Pizza, with a surprise: in addition to ricotta, fresh mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, olives, oregano and arugula, peanuts are also part of the combination. Needless to say, the desire to return to La Piola increases every time we remember the flavors - you can rely on Alex's suggestions; no one better than him to show the best of Italian cuisine!

We can't leave out the Piadina, the dish that showed us that an Italian gastronomic experience isn't just made of pasta and pizza, which has a particularity: it's created with a typical unleavened bread, which arose before the Romans discovered the yeast, and which served as a dish to place the dried fruits they ate. Today, with the various fillings (sweet and salty), it's seen as a delicious snack, perfect for a light meal - and, like the rest of La Piola's dishes, it's an option that doesn't disappoint!
