Doçaria de São Vicente

making Braga sweeter since 1829

Open since 1829, the Doçaria de São Vicente is a traditional confectionery of Braga’s sweets. Here you’ll find several examples of conventual sweets, especially those that are typical of Braga. The quality is evident, without forgetting their special creams and fillings: a divine dessert shop.

As soon as you come in, you’ll find that choosing just one will be extremely difficult. But there are some sweets that you simply cannot leave without tasting, and they are not exclusive of the Easter and Christmas seasons, but are present all year, such as the “tíbia”, a typical sweet from Braga, as well as other traditional cakes, which include “fidalguinhos”, “pedreneiras” and “rosquinhas”, among others.

For seasonal sweets, there are the “moletinhos”, a sort of sweet bread that is only baked on three dates: on St. Vincent Day (January 22nd), on Our Lady of Light Day (February 2nd) and on Father's Day (March 19th). The squash king’s cake that is made during Christmas time is also a sweet standout at this confectionery, where 90% of it consists of candied fruits.

Your day will surely be sweeter if you start it here, so take advantage of the breakfast, enjoy a snack or even take something sweet to go.

A century old confectionery that we expect to live at least a hundred more years, in order to continue to sweeten Braga and all its visitors.
